Electrical Service Upgrades: 200A & 400A
More amps for the way you live now.
An electrical service upgrade increases the total power your home can draw from the utility, typically from 100–150 amps to 200 amps, or from 200 amps to 400 amps (320A continuous). It includes a new meter base and service equipment, coordination with your utility, and a permit and inspection. In Central Texas expect roughly $3,500–$12,000 depending on size and the utility work required.
Two EVs, a heat pump, a pool and an induction range can easily outgrow a 200A service. Older homes on 100A service are often maxed out by a single EV. A service upgrade gives you headroom for today and whatever comes next.
We coordinate directly with Austin Energy, Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC), Oncor and Georgetown Utility Systems, whichever serves your address, so the disconnect, inspection and reconnect happen on a tight schedule.
Signs you need service upgrades
- 100A or 125A service in a home with central AC

What affects the price
Most service upgrades projects in Central Texas land between $3,500–$12,000. Where yours falls depends on:
